On November 7, 2024, the Secretariat of the Principles for Responsible Management Education (PRME), an initiative of the United Nations Global Compact (UNGC), officially announced that the School of Business and Management at Jilin University had officially joined the PRME initiative and become a PRME signatory.

As an international initiative supported by the UN Global Compact, PRME was initiated in 2007 by representatives of sixty deans, university presidents, and leading business schools and academic institutions worldwide, and was officially established at that year’s UN Global Compact Leaders Summit. PRME is currently the organization most closely linked to global higher education institutions in business administration, with 872 signatories from 96 countries. In China, 32 universities or institutions have joined the organization.
On December 12, 2024, the School of Business and Management was invited to attend an online welcome meeting of the PRME initiative. Zhao Jun, Party Secretary of the School of Business and Management; Zhang Gongyi, Director of the MBA Education Center and Associate Dean; and Yin Zhong, Deputy Director of the MBA Education Center, attended the meeting. Sophie Kacki, PRME Project Manager, introduced PRME programs and participation opportunities for signatories in detail, and provided guidance on how to effectively engage students, faculty and staff in PRME programs.

The school’s official accession to the PRME initiative marks international recognition of its work in sustainable development and responsible management education. In the future, the school will share and discuss research and practical achievements in responsible management education with more than 800 members worldwide, and promote high-quality development of the school’s internationalization. The school will take this opportunity to further deepen cooperation and exchanges with leading international educational institutions and continuously enhance its reputation and influence on the global education platform.
