From March 28 to April 2, 2026, the 21st annual conference iConference 2026, hosted by iSchools, the leading global alliance of information schools, was held at Edinburgh Napier University in the United Kingdom. The conference brought together more than 340 deans, experts, scholars and student representatives from information schools around the world. Professor Ma Jie, Associate Dean of the School of Business and Management at Jilin University, and Professor Deng Jun, Head of the Department of Information Management, attended this grand academic event for the global information discipline.

During the conference, Associate Dean Ma Jie attended the iSchools Global Deans’ Meeting as the representative of Jilin University. She heard the annual report on iSchools development and discussed with more than 40 deans of information schools from around the world the future trends of iSchools and the information discipline, the development of regional chapters, and inter-institutional cooperation, offering suggestions and recommendations. At the meeting, Associate Dean Ma Jie was invited to serve as Chair of AP-iConference 2026, the iSchools Asia-Pacific annual conference to be held in Thailand. This will further enhance the international academic influence of Jilin University’s information resources management discipline.

At this conference, Professor Deng Jun, as a member of the iSchools Board of Directors, attended the iSchools annual board meeting. Together with other board members, he reviewed the alliance’s annual documents and discussed iSchools membership expansion, academic conferences and seminars, project funding, and student activities.

As a core member of iSchools, Jilin University has always actively participated in various academic activities, organized academic panels, and chaired conference sub-forums. In 2024, it hosted the 19th iSchools Annual Conference, iConference 2024, expanding the international influence of Jilin University’s information resources management discipline. By participating in iConference 2026, Jilin University’s information resources management discipline has further enhanced its international academic reputation and international engagement, expanded partner institutions for international exchange and cooperation, and deepened international academic cooperation and talent cultivation.
